Surpasses the complex, slow, archaic software
used in most small law firms

Clio exceeded our expectations. Our testing has revealed that Clio largely meets our requirements. Even though Clio has room to grow, it far surpasses the complex, slow, archaic software applications used in most small law firms (I previously used PC Law, Pro Law, Time Matters, and others).

Clio has a great user interface, which makes using it easy and intuitive. With Clio, we can focus more time on clients and less time on the software and computer infrastructure.

The cost for Clio is less than the software and hardware needed to run most traditional law firm software applications. We also appreciate that little to no training is needed, the software is always backed-up, and we can access it from anywhere on the internet.

Clio’s fresh approach and innovation far surpasses the bloated, complex approach that currently exists in the law firm software industry.”

Aaron Hall, Twin Cities Law Firm

Simple and elegant
“As I began to tinker around with Clio, the thing that impressed me the most was how simple and elegant Clio’s design was. Everything made sense. Nothing was confusing. I did not have to go to a help file to figure out how to do what I wanted to do. I didn’t have to call tech support. I was presented with a clean and simple interface that allowed me to do all of the major tasks that lawyers do in a typical practice management solution.”

Brian Pedigo, The Pedigo Law Corporation

Cost-effective, easy-to-use and highly efficient
“Overall, Clio is a cost-effective, easy-to-use and highly efficient solution for solos and small firm attorneys. I would recommend it to any attorney wishing to be better organized in running a legal practice.”

Kira Fonteneau Special to Law.com / The Fonteneau Firm

Perfect
“Then I found Clio – and it was perfect.  First of all (and this might be sad that I list this as the first reason I chose Clio) – the interface is very, very slick, easy to use, and intuitive.  It has all sorts of “ajax-y” menu and form systems.  Secondly, it has all the functionality I need – time tracking, task management, and most importantly, online invoicing and billing. Everything is streamlined.  My billing cycle varies from client to client, matter to matter – but with Clio I never have any problems keeping track and getting bills out the door.”

Brian Powers, Law Office of Brian V Powers

Top of my rankings
“[Clio Sync for Outlook] moves Clio to the top of my rankings”

Sam Glover, Lawyerist.com

I only wish I had signed up from the get-go
“You have a great product and service.  I only wish I had signed up for the trial subscription from the get-go when I started my new firm.  Had I done so I would have saved myself a lot of time and trouble.  I was trying to identify the ultimate business/practice management software for my new firm and put off getting started with your product.  What I should have done was started with it right away and got myself fully organized from the start while I explored all the options in my spare time.

The beauty of your system is its simplicity and intuitive operation and the fact that it is “online” and not dependent on being on your hard drive or on the “computer at the office”.  I also like that the service is flexible,  you can start or stop your subscription at any time and get your data.  That flexibility is important to me.”

David C. McLauchlan

I really appreciate the ease of use of Clio
“I'm a solo and I've just started my practice this year.  As with any new business, one of my big concerns is managing of cash flow especially as I build my base of clients.  The Clio cost structure is very helpful in this respect.   Moreover, law is my second career and I come from a previous life as an engineer so I really appreciate the ease of use of Clio and the fact that it can be accessed from any internet terminal.  The Clio approach helps me manage my practice in a way that is completely consistent with modern mobility concepts.”

Steve Kovacic

A state of the art web-based practice suite
“A state of the art web-based practice suite engineered from the ground-up for sole practitioners, small firms, and often-overlooked Mac-users. [Clio] is the first true software-as-a-service (SaaS) offering for lawyers that isn’t just a watered down, feature-poor substitute for a desktop. So intuitive you’ll know how to use its familiar tools to communicate, draft, research, and bill in just a few minutes. Very possibly a lawyer’s best friend.”

Mazyar Hedeyat, PM Blog

In one word: complete
“If I were to describe Clio in one word, I would say, 'complete.' [...] So many times on the listserve, I hear the cry, 'I just want a program that will handle everything. That has accounting integrated. That has a solid calendaring system. That allows me to track clients documents. Is it so much to ask that it does everything?' Perhaps your time has come. I, for one, have not seen a program so close to fully integrated.”

Aaron Pelley, Criminal Defense Law with an Apple

Trust account management has become a breeze
“And then there’s the sheer power of Clio. We frequently find ourselves checking for conflicts through the contact database located within the program. We simply enter a name and the AJAX-based dropdown box self-populates with relevant hits. If there are none, the box is empty. There are no complicated reports to run. There are no queries to build. The same goes for time billing data entry. You simply go to the “Activities” page, begin typing the name of your client, the name of the matter, or the client/matter number itself and Clio again provides you with a self-populated list to choose from. Enter your time, select your rate from a list of rates that you can customize on another screen, enter the activity’s description, click. Themis recently added trust accounting ledgers to Clio, and trust account management has since become a breeze for us.”

Jason Molder, Molder Legal Group, P.A.

It’s hard to resist giving Clio a test drive
“To develop my own practice performance metrics and reports and engage in client management and billing is time-consuming. For a monthly subscription fee of $49.00 for attorneys ($25.00 per month for non-attorney support), plus copious storage capacity, it’s hard to resist giving Clio a test drive.”

Sean Doherty, Law.com

It takes a lot of the burden off the law firm
“[Clio] offer users access to practice management information from any computer connected to the Internet, including scheduling calendars, time tracking and billing information. [...] The biggest advantage of using an SaaS model is that it takes a lot of the burden off the law firm in purchasing hardware, software or hiring experienced IT professionals.”

Brett Burney, Law.com Legal Technology

It appears Clio was listening
“The one feature that made this an exciting release for me: Document Management. We have heard the document management rumbling before. We want something that allows secure access to documents online, save unlimited document versions, and does everything else. It appears Clio was listening and integrated this feature before the launch.”

Aaron Pelley, Criminal Defense Law with an Apple

I highly recommend Clio
“I am in a small law firm. I use a Mac and my partner uses a PC. I often need to be able to work remotely. I spent a great deal of time searching for an affordable practice management solution that had portability, ease of use, compatibility with Mac and PC, affordability and features that I needed integrated into one application. Clio has proven to be the answer for us – especially because of the responsiveness of the people working at Clio. When I expressed the need for something to assist with trust accounting, Clio developed a module that is meeting my needs in that area as well. I highly recommend Clio!”

Catherine Merino Reisman, Reisman Carolla LLP

Great customer service
“Why do I love Clio?
1. I don't need a secretary (or a billing office) to do bills - I can do them in less than 15 minutes.
2. Posting time and transactions is easy and intuitive.
3. Great customer service: Clio did a one-on-one web tutoring to get me really going when I had a few questions.
The price is very reasonable, even for a one person start-up like my practice.”

Beth Anne Jackson

Simple, cost effective, efficient practice management
“Simple, cost effective, efficient practice management software for the small firm. Great customer service too.”

Richard Barahona, The Law Offices of Daly & Mills P.A.

Enables me to practice the way I want
“Clio enables me to practice the way I want - no longer do I have to rely upon my short term memory if my client wants to know what's going on - no more "let me get your file and I'll get back to you" - it's "give me 2 seconds while I retrieve your file from the computer" (usually done while I'm speaking to the client. Additionally, clients love when you can answer their questions from anywhere you happen to be as long as you have access to the internet. Work gets done in a stream-lined, efficient manner - I open the file, all contact information is entered and my documentss are uploaded - no two-hole punchers needed. Lastly, while at court appearances and/or depositions I have instant access via Clio's document management system to "missing" document that may not have been brought to court.”

Ressell Leisner, Leisner Law, P.L.

Clean interface.
“Clio has a very clean interface. Relatively easy, intuitive to use. Very nice ability to save/back up document copies to a secure online storage 'vault.'”

Dale Bratton, Attorney at Law

I found none that could compare
“I just wanted to pass along a positive review of Clio’ s web-based practice management software. Having recently tried other programs geared for small firms and solos, I found none that could compare to Clio’s no-frills simplicity, and easy access from any computer. While, it does not have all the bells and whistles that some might desire, it compensates with ease of use and cost effectiveness. Plus, Clio provides a wealth of online storage space. Needless to say I am slowly being won over with the Software as a Service (SaaS) concept.”

Lee Turner, Attorney at Law, Lee Turner Law

Time entry was a breeze
“Within minutes of activating Clio, our entire firm was up and using the software with relative ease, storing contacts, case information, appointments, and documents. Time entry was a breeze. And, where it used to take us 3 to 4 days to generate our bills, with Clio, the whole process took less than 2 hours.”

Sara Hanley, The Law Offices of Place and Hanley

“I found that [Clio's] price point will be low enough that solos and small firms won't even think twice before trying it out.”

Sean Doherty, Legal Technology, Law.com's Legal Technology Blog

You Need to Give it a Try. Now.
“We were having nightmares about purchasing a server, having to maintaining a server, and backing up data. Clio to the rescue. It has been an absolute joy to use and we’re spreading the word: You Need to Give it a Try. Now. Customer service is incredible and the software is amazing. Still not sold? How about the ability to access every contact, every note, and every document on a file from your smart phone? With Clio you can.”

Joseph R. Morrison, Attorney At Law, Martin & Morrison P.C.

The first truly practical cloud-based practice management software
“Clio Sync for Outlook makes Clio the first truly practical cloud-based practice management software. A web-only interface just is not very useful when I just want to make a call from my phone.”

Sam Glover, Lawyerist.com

Accessible anywhere
“It will help lawyers stay more efficient with an easy-to-use system that is accessible anywhere”

Zach Heller, Lawline.com

“Being a solo practitioner, I was looking for a comprehensive system that I could access from anywhere, even my iPhone. However, the number one reason that I have switched to Clio is their technical support. To see your comments and/or suggestions (that are so easy to submit) updated and incorporated within the system within hours is worth every penny!”

Melanie C. Leonard, Law Office of Melanie C. Leonard, P.C.

As for your data, Themis takes it seriously
“As for your data, Themis Solutions takes it seriously. It promises to back up your data, daily, in a secure, off-site data center and conduct daily security audits from a third party to insure data security. What's more, you can export your data from Clio at any time.”

Well worth the $49 per month for attorneys
“For lawyers currently wrestling with Time Matters, Amicus, Abacus, and other clumsy practice management packages, Clio would be a breath of fresh air, and well worth the $49 per month for attorneys and $25 per month for staff.”

Sam Glover, Lawyerist.com

Nothing short of wonderful
“The Clio home page after login is nothing short of wonderful. It’s clean, organized, and minimalistic. The buttons are easy to locate and are where you expect them to be. The home page is not cluttered with extraneous links that are better located in nested pages. All in all, it is a pleasure to use and to navigate.”

Jason Molder, Molder Legal Group, P.A.

Simple and relatively stress free
“I was very excited to learn about Clio. They made the transition from our old impractical practice management software simple and relatively stress free. Navigating Clio is very simple and I like how un-cluttered the website looks.”

Conrad Doudin, Law offices of Conrad Doudin

Clio avoids the need to purchase, install and maintain software
“A core advantage of a SaaS such as [Clio] is that it avoids the need to purchase, install and maintain software”

Robert Ambrogi, Robert Ambrogi's LawSites.

Solos and small firms won't even think twice
“I found that [Clio's] price point will be low enough that solos and small firms won't even think twice before tyring it out”

Sean Doherty, Legal Technology, Law.com's Legal Technology Blog

Simply put, Clio works for my practice.
“Simply put, Clio works for my practice. For years I used Abacus. The problem with Abacus was I was "married" to my office computer to do anything. If I got calls at night or needed info I had to remote access to the office server and computer.  Remote access is slow. Clio is exactly what I needed.  I have access anywhere.  It is easy to use and easy to teach to staff.  The calendering system works great with my iPhone. When my secretary puts a new appointment on the calender it is on my phone within a minute. I don't have to link it and download anymore. I love the documents part because we save every document to a client's file. If I need the document at court or on the weekend, I just log into Clio.

The billing system is easy to use, easy to manage and works great.  I uploaded my firm's logo to the invoices and can email a statement to my client or print it out and mail it.  I can accept payments on line.

Probably the best part of CLIO is the customer service.  If I have a problem I always get through or receive a quick call back - the Clio team has never let me down.  Another great benefit is when I want something changed they are receptive to adding new areas or ideas.  Because I do flat fees with monthly payment I needed to customize the billing. That was no problem for CLIO, we did a call to find out what I needed and they walked me through a fix that worked great for me.

It is hard to believe CLIO has only been around a year, I can't wait to see what new advances CLIO offers over the next year.  With CLIO, I'll never go back to a high priced computer based program again.”

Stephen Hamilton

Perfect for people on the go
“As an accountant, I find Clio easy to use and very user friendly. Clio is accessible anywhere in the world, which is perfect for people who are always on the go. Secondly, there is a free webinar that is offered many times in a year. So if you miss it, you can wait 1 or 2 weeks for the next one. Customer support is quick and supportive. I would recommend the product to all our lawyer clients.”

Denise Wong, Stephen Harpur Inc.

More than meets the eye
“Clio is more than meets the eye.  It starts out with such an inviting and easy interface that it pulls you in and makes you want to use it.  As you begin adding information and exploring the features, you find that there is much more to CLIO than meets the eye.  Clio is easy to use, simple in the discovery process so that you do not get overloaded, and before you know it, you can organize and track clients, contacts, matters, time, billing, documents, and information with ease.  I am excited about Clio and the use of this system for both my virtual clients as well as my traditional clients who are learning how to use the Internet as a way for us to communicate and keep up with their legal matters.”

Renay Montreuil

Takes the drudgery out of trust accounting
“I'm a solo practitioner and have used Clio for just over a month now.  I chose it because of the trust accounting functions -- the management of which is a job I hate.  Clio takes the drudgery out of it.  But my new favorite feature is "ClientConnect" -- a quick, easy and secure way to keep clients updated on what's going on without wasting precious time and postage.  They love it too.”

Jo Self, Law Office of Jo Annette Self

Most promising releases of the year
“So many times on the listserve, I hear the cry, I just want a program that will handle everything. That has accounting integrated. That has a solid calendaring system. That allows me to track clients documents. Is it so much to ask that it does everything? Perhaps your time has come. I, for one, have not seen a program so close to fully integrated. [...] This SaaS is one of the most promising releases of the year.”

Sean Doherty, Legal Technology, Law.com's Legal Technology Blog

SaaS was the only way to go
“I have a good laptop, and a server that backs my laptop up every night, but I don’t want the lifeblood of my practice, my practice management system, running on my machines – which are completely dependent on me for technical support. SaaS was the only way to go.”

Brian Powers, Law Office of Brian V Powers

Clio is here, and it rocks
“Clio is here, and it rocks. I’ve seen this system first hand and, yes, it kicks ass.”

Mazyar Hedeyat, PM Blog

“Clio has definately sold me on Software-as-a-Service.”

Lee Turner, Attorney At Law, Lee Turner PLLC

Secure
“Since [Clio is] web-based, it gives you the advantage of being out of your office and being able to log into your practice management application from any machine running a browser. It allows you to share file data with others in your office without ever setting up an actual network. Its secure. It gives you a full line of features, including document management.”

Zale Dowlen, Law Office Linux

Receptive and prompt tech support.
“We've been pleased with how polished Clio is for relatively new software: for every possible enhancement we thought of, we benefit from a dozen polished features. We've also been pleased with the receptiveness and promptness that mark Clio tech support. We've signed on as users, and we suggest you give it a careful look.”

Tom Trigg, Trigg Law Office

Keep key client data at your fingertips.
“We love Clio because it allows you to keep key client data at your fingertips, wherever you are - using any computer or even your iPhone.”
