It has been over a year since we published our last roundup of State Bar cloud computing ethics opinions.
There have been a few additions to the list, including Massachusetts’ opinion.
This brings the total number of states issuing ethics’ opinions on cloud computing to 13. You can see the full list and links to each opinion on the American Bar Association’s website.
In addition, the Florida Bar has issued a proposed advisory opinion on cloud computing. They are accepting comments from Florida Bar members until June 28, 2013 on the opinion.
The universal standard remains that lawyers should exercise “reasonable care,” when storing client information through third-party services.
