#cliotraining Tip: Text Snippets

Our Google Drive integration stole the show last week, so our handy new short hand method, called Text Snippets, flew under the radar.

Stop for a second and think of all the routine words and phrases you type out every day. Meet with client. Phone call with client. Email co-counsel. Email client. Review file. Prepare for hearing. File motion. Odds are good you have a decent-sized list. With Text Snippets, you can create short codes so instead of always typing 17 characters to say “meeting with client,” you can type three: “mwc” and Clio does the rest.

Text Snippets are enabled by default, and are pre-populated with common phrases:

You can easily customize them by doing the following:

  1. Log into your Clio account.
  2. Under Settings, click Text Snippets.
  3. Click the “Add” button to create your own.

You can also edit the pre-populated list.

In the end, you’ll have a running list of short codes for your firm, turning multiple-character common phrases into three character snippets.

Got a tip to share? Let us know. We’d love to hear them!
