D. Todd Smith on Internet-Based Practice Management Solutions
D. Todd Smith, author of the excellent Texas Appellate Law Blog, recently published an excellent article on Internet-Based Practice Management Solutions in the Texas Bar Journal.
Todd does an excellent job of covering the major benefits of adoption of legal SaaS offerings, including portability, collaboration, cost, safety and security, as well as some of the new concerns that SaaS offerings introduce, such as compliance with State Bar confidentiality issues.
Todd concludes:
Technology helps level the playing field for solos and small firms and is changing the way we all practice law. Legal SAAS providers are developing all-in-one practice management solutions, but in the end, whether any of them will benefit your practice depends on the specific circumstances involved. Those of us currently using traditional software should consider these solutions as a means of simplifying our practices, increasing productivity, and enhancing our ability to match up with larger competitors.
Thanks for the great article Todd! Read the article in its entirety here.
