Announcing Clio

Today we’re happy to take the wraps off of Clio – something that we’ve had in development for over a year – and make the software available to a much wider beta audience. In doing so, we hope to harvest the input and feedback of real users over the coming weeks to help smooth the remaining rough-edges, and ensure that Clio is best adapted to the needs of lawyers ready to take the Web 2.0 plunge.

Clio is a web-based practice management tool that makes your files, clients, documents, time entries, and bills available to you wherever you have an internet connection.

The era of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) has arrived, as evidenced by services such as Salesforce.com and Google Docs, and lawyers are one of the audiences that stand most to gain from the transition from desktop-based software to web-based software. No more painful software deployments, configurations, upgrades and backups. Clio takes care of all of this for you in a secured, continually backed up service.

We’ll be revealing more about Clio over the coming weeks, so stay tuned!
